Shenzhen Shekou CMG Garden City, as the inaugural shopping mall of China Merchants Group's (CMG) Garden Series commercial properties, was inaugurated in May 2006 at the core of the Qianhai-Shekou Free Trade Zone. With a total gross floor area exceeding 100,000 square meters, it integrates diversified formats including retail, leisure, entertainment, dining, and education. Having served the community for 17 years, Garden City holds the distinction of being Shekou's first modern shopping center, housing Nanshan District's pioneering Walmart and Decathlon stores. Once the trendiest and most contemporary destination, it carries decades of collective memories for local residents. With the establishment of the Shekou Free Trade Zone, maturation of the surrounding commercial ecosystem, the recent opening of Metro Line 12, and evolving lifestyles of the community demographics, Garden City now stands at a critical juncture for transformative regeneration and a new chapter of growth.

深圳蛇口招商花园城作为蛇口招商花园系商业产品的首个购物中心,在2006年5月诞生于前海蛇口自贸区中心腹地。总建筑面积逾10万平方米,集购物、休闲、娱乐、餐饮、教育等多重业态于一体。具有17年历史的花园城,是蛇口第一个现代化的购物中心,拥有南山区第一家沃尔玛和迪卡侬,作为曾经最时髦最现代的目的地,她承载着社区居民多年的集体记忆。随着蛇口自贸区成立,区域商圈日趋成熟,地铁12号线开通,社区客群生活方式进阶,花园城亟待升级换代,重新出发。

The design prioritizes pedestrian experience and urban aesthetics, strategically enhancing key areas like street corners, main entrances, walkways, and streetscapes to create an engaging commercial environment, while implementing measured upgrades elsewhere to maintain balance. Garden City's most iconic conical entrance and spherical LED ceiling have been preserved. The redesign focused on enhancing the street-scale facades around the main entrance, creating a distinctive garden-inspired streetscape experience. While renewed, the revitalized Garden City remains the familiar, one-of-a-kind destination the community has always cherished.

设计发力点集中在人行体验、城市形象两个方面,营造宜人而富有粘性的步行商业空间是商业成功的关键因素。因此我们重点对街角形象,主要出入口,人行通道及沿街环境进行了提升优化,而在其他界面则是有节制地对几个局部进行了提升。花园城最具识别性的圆锥体入口及球型LED天顶被保留了下来。围绕主入口重点优化街道尺度立面,形成独有的花园街区体验,让“花园城”在焕然一新以后,还是大家熟悉的那个独一无二的花园城。
